Editorial policy

These are the rules the Insight Media Global newsroom works to. They are published so readers can hold us to them.

Last updated 26 August 2026

1. Everything is drafted originally

We do not republish, syndicate or lightly rewrite other outlets' copy. Every article on this site is written from independently gathered source material by an Insight Media desk. Where another outlet broke a story we are building on, we say so in the text and link to them.

2. Claims are traced to documents

Figures, dates and quotations are checked against primary material — institutional reports, official statistics, regulatory filings, court documents and on-record statements — before publication. Each article ends with the sources used so any reader can verify the claims independently. If we cannot source a claim, we do not publish it.

3. Provenance is visible on every headline

Every article carries one of five labels describing how it was produced. The label is applied by the desk and reviewed by the editor-in-chief.

  • Primary SourceBuilt directly on an official document, dataset, filing or on-record statement that the article cites and links.
  • Verified ReportingThe central factual claims are confirmed against at least two credible, independent published sources, both of which are listed at the foot of the article.
  • AnalysisInterpretation, context and consequence, built on sourced facts but going beyond them. Analysis is clearly separated from the reporting it rests on.
  • OpinionAn argued position held by a named Insight Media desk. Opinion never appears without the label.
  • DevelopingAn active story where facts are still being confirmed. The article states explicitly what is not yet known.

The "Verified Reporting" label in particular is a promise, not decoration. If a piece rests on a single source, or on our own reading of a document, it is labelled Primary Source or Analysis instead.

4. Opinion is separated and labelled

Analytical articles may close with a clearly headed "Insight Media Opinion" section. That section is argument, not reporting, and is visually and structurally separated from the sourced material above it. Nothing in an opinion section introduces new factual claims that are not sourced elsewhere in the article.

5. AI is a tool, not an author

Editorial judgement, sourcing and final wording are human decisions made by an Insight Media desk under the editor-in-chief. We do not publish unreviewed machine-generated text, and no article is published without a human having checked its sources.

6. Advertising does not touch editorial

The site carries programmatic advertising. Advertisers have no advance sight of, and no influence over, what we cover or how. Any sponsored or partner material would be labelled as such above the first line of text. To date we have published none.

7. Mistakes are corrected in public

Our full corrections process — how to report an error, how quickly we respond, and how fixes are disclosed — is published on the corrections page. Desks and their remits are described on our about page.
